1. Acceptance of these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Zikrah ("we", "us"), the operator of the Zikrah app and this website. By downloading or using Zikrah, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. The app

Zikrah is an independent iOS app that provides prayer times, a prayer tracker, optional groups, a Qibla compass, a Quran reader, widgets and adhkar. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.

You agree not to misuse the app. In particular, do not try to access other people's accounts or data, interfere with the service or the systems behind it, or use the app in a way that breaks the law.

3. Prayer times and Qibla direction

Prayer times and the Qibla direction shown in Zikrah are calculated estimates. They depend on your device's location and sensors, on the calculation method chosen in settings, and on local conditions, and they may differ from the times followed in your community.

Verify prayer times and the Qibla direction with your local mosque. You are responsible for how you rely on what the app shows.

4. Accounts

You can use Zikrah without an account. An account is only needed for groups, and you create one by choosing "Sign in with Apple" and picking a display name.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Zikrah is not directed to children under 13, and you must not create an account if you are under 13.

You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings > Account > Delete account.

5. Community rules for groups

Groups exist so that family and friends can encourage each other to pray. To keep them that way, these rules apply to everyone who uses them.

Display names and group names must not be:

  • abusive or harassing;
  • hateful;
  • sexual;
  • impersonating another person or organisation; or
  • otherwise objectionable.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Do not use groups, names, challenges or reactions to harass, threaten, shame or mislead anyone.

Group owners can remove members from their group.

6. Reporting, blocking and moderation

  • You can report or block a member from inside a group.
  • We review reports. Offending content or accounts may be removed, normally within 24 hours.
  • We may remove a display name or group name, remove a member from a group, or suspend or delete an account that breaks these rules, with or without notice.

If something needs our attention and you cannot report it in the app, email azancast@gmail.com.

7. Third-party content and donation links

Zikrah displays content provided by third parties, including Quran text, translations and audio. We do not control that content and cannot promise it is free of errors or always available.

The app may show a featured charity campaign and link to LaunchGood. Donation links go to third parties and are governed by their terms. Zikrah does not process donations, does not receive your payment information, and is not responsible for campaigns, how donations are used, or anything else on third-party sites.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles, what members of your groups can see, and how to delete your data.

9. Termination

You can stop using Zikrah at any time by deleting your account and removing the app.

We may suspend or end your access to accounts and groups if you break these terms, in particular the community rules. We may also change or discontinue the app, or any part of it, at any time.

10. Provided as-is

Zikrah is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including that the app will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free, or that prayer times, the Qibla direction or any content shown in the app are correct.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Zikrah is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, Zikrah. This includes reliance on prayer times or the Qibla direction, the conduct of other users in groups, and third-party content, services or donations.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

12. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Your use of the app must also follow the App Store terms that apply to you.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If you keep using Zikrah after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States of America, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections you have where you live.
